Keyword Research
Discover keyword opportunities through AI-generated ideas, bulk volume checks, or domain analysis—then add the best ones to your tracking.
Quick start
1. Select a research tool (AI Research by Keyword, Search Volume Check, or AI Research by Domain)
2. Enter a keyword, keyword list, or domain
3. Select the target location
4. Click the action button to run the analysis
5. Filter and sort results, then click + to add keywords to your tracking
The three research tools
AI Research by Keyword

Explore any keyword topic to generate ideas and understand search volumes. This tool uses AI to expand a seed keyword into related search terms, then retrieves volume data for each suggestion.
Best for:
• Starting content research with a topic or theme
• Discovering related keywords not immediately obvious
• Finding question-based and long-tail variations
Search Volume Check
Already have a keyword list? Get search volume, competition data, and performance metrics for up to 1,000 terms at once.

Best for:
• Validating keyword lists from other sources
• Checking volume for keywords gathered manually
• Bulk analysis of existing keyword databases
AI Research by Domain
Discover which keywords a website is ranking for. Enter any domain to see keyword suggestions based on that site's content and rankings.

Best for:
• Competitor keyword research
• Auditing your own site's keyword presence
• Finding keywords in a specific niche by analysing relevant sites

Using the filters
Keyword filter
Type in the filter box to show only keywords containing that text. Filtering happens instantly as text is entered.
Minimum volume filter
Select a minimum search volume threshold to focus on higher-traffic keywords:
| Option | Shows keywords with |
| Any | All search volumes |
| 100+ | At least 100 monthly searches |
| 500+ | At least 500 monthly searches |
| 1,000+ | At least 1,000 monthly searches |
| 10,000+ | At least 10,000 monthly searches |
Sorting
Click any column header to sort by that column. Click again to reverse the order. An arrow indicates the current sort column and direction.
Adding keywords to tracking
1. Find a keyword worth tracking in the results
2. Click the + button in the first column
3. If multiple domains exist in the workspace, select the target domain
4. The button changes to a tick when added successfully
Keywords already tracked in the current workspace are automatically excluded from results.
Exporting data
Click the CSV export button (file icon) to download the current filtered results. The export includes all visible columns and respects active filters.
Location selection
Type at least 3 characters in the location field to search for countries, regions, or cities. Search volume and competition data reflect the selected location. The default is United States.
Troubleshooting
No results returned
The keyword or domain may have no data available, or all suggestions are already tracked.
• Try a broader or more common keyword
• Check the domain format (use domain.com, not https://)
• Try a different location if results are location-specific
AI Research is slow
AI Research by Keyword runs multiple processes: AI generation, then volume lookup. This typically takes 15–30 seconds. The analysis runs asynchronously—the page remains responsive while processing completes.
Cannot add keyword
No domains exist in the current workspace.
• Add a domain in Search Groups first
• Verify the correct workspace is selected
Volume check limit reached
Search Volume Check accepts up to 1,000 keywords per request. If more are entered, only the first 1,000 are processed. Split larger lists into multiple checks.
FAQ
How does AI Research by Keyword work?
The tool sends the seed keyword to an AI model, which generates approximately 100 related keyword variations. These keywords are then sent to a volume check service to retrieve search data. Results combine AI creativity with real search metrics.
Why are some keywords excluded from results?
Keywords already tracked in the current workspace are automatically filtered out. This prevents duplicates and focuses results on new opportunities.
What does the Trend column show?
The Trend column displays a 12-month sparkline chart of search volume. This reveals seasonality patterns—keywords that spike at certain times of year. Hover over the chart to see individual monthly values.
What do competition levels mean?
Competition reflects Google Ads advertiser competition, not organic ranking difficulty. Low means fewer advertisers bid on this term. High means many advertisers compete for it. High competition often indicates commercial value.
How accurate is the search volume data?
Search volume comes from Google Ads data. Values represent monthly averages and are typically shown in rounded ranges. Exact search counts vary month to month based on trends and seasonality.
