Days to Conversions Chart
The Days to Conversion Distribution chart shows how long customers take to convert—revealing whether conversions happen quickly or require extended consideration periods.
Quick start
1. Select a domain and optionally a path
2. Look for the dominant time bucket (where most conversions occur)
3. Compare device stacks to spot device-specific patterns
4. Hover over bars for detailed breakdowns
Understanding the chart
The chart displays a stacked column for each time bucket, with colours representing device types. Each column shows the percentage of total converting sessions that fell into that time range.

Time buckets
| Bucket | Meaning |
| 0–1 days | Converted within 24 hours of first touch. Quick decision-makers. |
| 2–7 days | Converted within a week. Short consideration period. |
| 8–14 days | Converted within two weeks. Moderate consideration. |
| 15–30 days | Converted within a month. Extended research phase. |
| 31–60 days | Converted within two months. Long consideration cycle. |
| 61+ days | Converted after two months. Very long sales cycle. |
Device stacking
Each bar is stacked by device type, showing Desktop, Mobile, and Tablet contributions. This reveals whether conversion timing differs by device.
Reading the Y-axis
The Y-axis shows 'Share of converting sessions (%)'. Each bar represents the percentage of all converting sessions that converted within that time range. All bars together total 100%.
What should I do next?
| If you see... | Then... |
| Most conversions in 0–1 days | Customers convert quickly. Focus on first-visit optimisation and strong CTAs. |
| Spread across multiple buckets | Mixed buying cycles. Segment by product type or customer segment to understand patterns. |
| Long tail (31+ days significant) | Extended consideration cycle. Invest in nurture campaigns and retargeting. |
| Mobile converts faster than Desktop | Mobile users are more impulsive. Ensure mobile checkout is frictionless. |
| Desktop converts slower than Mobile | Desktop users research more. Provide detailed product information. |
| Significant 61+ days bucket | Very long sales cycle. Review attribution window settings and nurture sequences. |
Using the tooltip
Hover over any bar segment to see detailed information including total converting sessions for that bucket, the percentage of all conversions, and the breakdown by device.
Exporting the chart
Click the menu icon (☰) in the top-right corner to export the chart as PNG, JPEG, PDF, or SVG. The export captures the current view with all data visible.
Troubleshooting
Chart is not visible
The Days to Conversion Distribution chart requires cookie-based tracking. If the domain uses cookieless tracking, the section is hidden. This is because calculating days-to-convert requires visitor journey data that cookieless mode doesn't capture.
'No converting sessions found'
No conversions occurred in the selected date range and filters. Try expanding the date range or removing restrictive filters.
All bars appear in one bucket
If most conversions happen in a single time window, the distribution will appear concentrated. This is informative—it shows a consistent conversion timeline.
FAQ
How is 'days to convert' calculated?
Days to convert is calculated as the difference between the conversion timestamp and the first touch timestamp, converted to days. A visitor who arrives on Monday and converts on Wednesday has a 2-day conversion time.
Why might the same visitor appear in different buckets?
This chart shows session-level data. The same visitor could have multiple sessions, each converting at different times from their respective first touches.
Does this chart filter by channel or device?
The chart neutralises channel and device filters to show the full distribution. The stacking by device is built into the visualisation itself rather than being a filter.
Why do percentages add up to 100%?
The chart shows each converting session once, placed in exactly one time bucket based on its days-to-convert value. Every session belongs to exactly one bucket, so percentages total 100%.
