Create Content Drafts

Content Drafting turns a saved content outline into a section-by-section working draft that can be reviewed, edited, checked and marked ready.

Overview

Content Drafting uses the saved outline, project context and available sources to prepare a complete draft.

The Draft Workspace lets you:

  • Generate the first draft
  • Follow generation progress
  • Review content section by section
  • Edit sections directly
  • Ask Wheremore to revise an individual section
  • Review draft-level checks
  • Open, approve or remove suggested source links
  • Regenerate the complete draft
  • Preview, copy or export the draft
  • Mark the draft ready
  • Return to the outline and manage later structural changes

Content Drafting creates editable content inside Wheremore. It does not publish to the connected website.

Access and scope

A saved outline and its linked Action Board card are required.

Open Content Drafting by:

  • Selecting Create first draft from a saved outline
  • Selecting Open draft from Content Bank
  • Opening the linked content card from the Action Board

The draft belongs to the same project and content topic as the outline. The project’s available audience, brand voice, country and language context can guide generation when those settings are available.

Quick start

  1. Review and save the Content Outline.
  2. Select Create first draft.
  3. Keep the page open while Wheremore creates and reviews the sections.
  4. Review any draft checks and suggested sources.
  5. Read and edit each section.
  6. Preview or export the complete draft.
  7. Select Mark ready when editorial review is complete.

Generate the first draft

Select Create first draft from the Outline tab.

The progress display moves through:

  • Planning
  • Introduction
  • Sections
  • Sources
  • Reviewing
  • Preparing

Wheremore drafts the article section by section and then runs an editorial review. Targeted corrections can be applied before the result is shown.

Sections remain locked while generation is in progress. Keep the page open until the process completes.

Understand the generated draft

The Draft tab displays the article as separate section cards.

Each card can show:

  • The section heading and heading level
  • Editable section content
  • Word count
  • Section-specific checks or issues
  • Sources associated with that section
  • Section editing and revision controls

The draft follows the saved outline, but generated prose is not final copy. Review its facts, reasoning, voice, examples, links and calls to action before use.

Review the draft checks

Draft checks contains findings that apply to the draft as a whole. Individual sections can also display their own issues.

Checks can identify matters such as:

  • Repetition across sections
  • Incomplete or weak passages
  • Unsupported or questionable claims
  • Structural or editorial inconsistencies
  • Source or citation issues

AI review reduces obvious problems but does not replace a human editor, subject specialist, legal review or factual verification.

Edit a section

After generation completes, edit section text directly in its content area.

Changes are autosaved. Wait for the autosave status to confirm completion before closing or reloading the page.

When editing:

  • Preserve the purpose of the outline section
  • Remove duplicated explanations
  • Verify names, dates, statistics and factual claims
  • Check that the voice fits the project
  • Make links descriptive and relevant
  • Ensure the section moves the article forward

Ask Wheremore to revise a section

Use the section revision control when you want a focused rewrite rather than editing everything manually.

Enter a clear instruction describing what should change—for example:

  • Make this explanation shorter and more direct.
  • Remove repetition from the previous section.
  • Rewrite this for a non-technical audience.
  • Keep the evidence but make the tone less promotional.
  • Strengthen the transition into the next section.

The revision applies to that section. Review the replacement before accepting it as final.

Review suggested sources

Sources can appear beneath a specific section or in Other suggested source links when they are not assigned to one section.

For each source, you can:

  • Open it in a separate page
  • Mark checked after verifying it
  • Remove it from the draft’s suggested-source list

Suggested links originate from the outline’s available references. Wheremore restricts generated citations to those permitted sources, but you must still confirm that each source supports the nearby claim.

Marking a source checked records your review in Wheremore. It does not guarantee the source’s accuracy or suitability.

Removing a suggested source removes it from the draft record. It does not change or delete the external webpage.

Work with citations safely

Before retaining a citation:

  1. Open the destination.
  2. Confirm that it supports the exact claim being made.
  3. Check the publisher, author and publication date where relevant.
  4. Make sure the anchor text accurately describes the destination.
  5. Replace or remove the claim if adequate support is unavailable.

Do not assume that a generated link makes a statement true. High-risk subjects require appropriate specialist review.

Preview the complete draft

Select Preview draft to read the full article as one continuous piece.

Preview is useful for checking:

  • Overall flow
  • Repetition between sections
  • Heading hierarchy
  • Transitions
  • Article length
  • Links and source placement
  • The ending and next step

Preview does not publish the draft.

Copy or export the draft

Use the copy control to place a readable version of the complete draft on the clipboard.

The preview can also provide document export options, including Word or PDF where available. Exported files are working copies for review or transfer; they do not remain synchronised with later Draft Workspace edits.

If you change the draft after exporting it, create a new export before handing it over.

Regenerate the draft

Select Regenerate draft when the entire generated result should be replaced.

Regeneration creates a fresh draft from the current outline. It can overwrite edited or previously generated copy, so copy or export anything that must be retained before continuing.

Use full regeneration when:

  • The outline has changed substantially
  • The draft follows the wrong angle
  • Problems affect most sections
  • A fresh version is more efficient than individual edits

For a local problem, revise or edit the affected section instead.

Handle an out-of-sync outline

If the outline changes after the draft was generated, the workspace can display:

Draft out of sync with outline.

Choose:

  • Keep draft as-is to preserve the existing prose.
  • Regenerate full draft to rebuild the draft from the revised outline.

Keeping the draft acknowledges the difference; it does not merge the new outline instructions into the existing prose automatically.

Change the working title

Use the title edit control in the Draft Workspace header to update the working title.

When the source relationship is valid, Wheremore also updates the linked Content Bank topic title so the planning record and draft remain aligned.

Mark the draft ready

Select Mark ready after completing editorial and source review.

This:

  • Changes the draft status to Ready
  • Updates the linked Content Bank item to Draft Ready when possible
  • Signals that the draft can move to the next workflow stage

Marking ready does not publish the draft to the website. It is a workflow status within Wheremore.

Continue through the Action Board

The linked Action Board card provides the operational record for the content work.

Use the Board to:

  • Assign ownership
  • Track progress
  • Add due dates or workflow context
  • Coordinate review
  • Move the work through the team’s process

The Draft Workspace remains the editing area for the outline and generated content.

What should I do next?

  • The draft is accurate but needs polish: Edit the relevant sections directly.
  • One section is weak: Give Wheremore a targeted section instruction.
  • The whole draft follows the wrong structure: Update the outline and regenerate the full draft.
  • Sources are listed: Open and verify each one before retaining claims or links.
  • The article flows well in preview: Export it or mark it ready.
  • The draft is ready for team review: Mark ready and continue on the Action Board.

Troubleshooting

Create first draft is unavailable

Confirm that the outline has been saved and that the Draft Workspace is linked to a valid Action Board card.

Draft generation does not start

Reload the linked Draft Workspace and confirm that the outline is present. Avoid opening several generation requests for the same card.

Draft generation takes a long time

The workflow plans, drafts and reviews multiple sections. Keep the page open while progress is active. Do not repeatedly select the generation control.

A section fails while the others complete

Wait for the current generation process to finish. Retry the failed operation if the interface provides a retry or regeneration control. Preserve completed work before regenerating the whole draft.

Sections cannot be edited

Sections are locked during generation and review. Wait until preparation finishes.

Edits disappear

Wait for the autosave confirmation before leaving the page. Reopen the same linked Board card and verify that no other session overwrote the shared draft.

Wheremore permits generated links only from the outline’s approved source list. A link outside that list can be stripped during generation.

A source does not support the claim

Remove or replace the citation and correct the claim. Mark a source checked only after reviewing it.

The draft is repetitive

Check whether the outline contains overlapping sections. Edit or revise the affected sections, or consolidate the outline and regenerate the draft.

The draft is out of sync with the outline

The outline changed after generation. Keep the current draft or regenerate it from the revised structure.

Preview or export is unavailable

Wait for generation to complete. Confirm that the draft contains completed sections, then reopen the preview.

Mark ready fails

Confirm that the draft finished generating and remains linked to an accessible project and Board card. Reload the workspace and try again.

The draft is marked ready but is not on the website

Ready is a Wheremore workflow status. Export or transfer the approved content into the website’s publishing system.

Frequently asked questions

Does Content Drafting publish to my website?

No. It creates and stores editable content in Wheremore.

Does AI review guarantee factual accuracy?

Can I edit the generated text?

Yes. The draft is designed for section-by-section editing.

Are edits saved automatically?

Yes, after the draft exists. Wait for the autosave confirmation before leaving.

Can I regenerate only one section?

Use the section revision controls for a focused change. Full draft regeneration replaces the complete generated result.

What does Mark ready do?

It marks the draft Ready and can move the linked Content Bank item to Draft Ready. It does not publish content.

Can I export the draft?

Yes. Use the available preview/export controls to create a working copy such as Word or PDF.

What happens when the outline changes?

The workspace can mark the draft out of sync. Choose whether to retain it or regenerate from the updated outline.
