Quick start

1.    Enter a keyword and select the target location

2.    Click Send to fetch search results

3.    Review the top 100 organic results

4.    Select up to five competitor URLs and click Analyse with AI

Understanding the display

SERP Check displays organic search results in a card-based layout. Each result shows position, domain, title, description, and URL. Checkboxes appear beside results that can be analysed—sites like YouTube, Amazon, and Wikipedia are excluded as they follow different ranking patterns.

Position benchmarks

Position Meaning
1–3 Top of results, highest click-through rates
4–10 First page, good visibility
11–20 Second page, significantly reduced traffic
20+ Deep in results, minimal organic discovery

What should I do next?

The action depends on current ranking position and the analysis results:

Situation Action
Not ranking Analyse top competitors. Identify content gaps and trust signals to address.
Position 11–20 Close to page one. Focus on immediate-priority recommendations.
Position 4–10 Strong foundation. Implement quick wins to push into top three.
Position 1–3 Protect the position. Monitor competitors for emerging threats.

Troubleshooting

No results found

The keyword may have no indexed results, or the location/language combination is too narrow.

•       Try a broader keyword

•       Select a different location

•       Check spelling

Analysis button disabled

The Analyse with AI button requires at least one URL to be selected.

•       Run a SERP check first

•       Select at least one checkbox beside a result

•       Note: YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Reddit are excluded

Page content could not be accessed

Some pages block automated access or use heavy JavaScript rendering.

•       Try a different competitor URL

•       The analysis continues with available data

Analysis taking too long

Complex pages require more processing time. The system includes automatic retry logic.

•       Wait up to five minutes for processing

•       If processing stalls, the system retries automatically

•       Reduce the number of selected URLs if timeouts persist

FAQ

How many URLs can be analysed at once?

Up to five URLs per analysis. This balances depth of insight with processing time and credit usage.

Why are some sites excluded from selection?

YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia, and major social platforms follow unique ranking patterns that differ from typical content pages. Analysing them provides less actionable insight for content optimisation.

Does location affect results?

Yes. Search results vary significantly by location. Select the geographic area where the target audience is based.

How does mobile differ from desktop?

Mobile results often show different rankings, layouts, and featured snippets. Check both device types when optimising for a broad audience.

Can the AI chat help after analysis?

Yes. After aggregate analysis completes, a chat interface appears. Ask follow-up questions about the findings or request specific implementation guidance.
