Understanding the keywords table
The keywords table lists every tracked keyword with its current ranking data. Each row represents one keyword on one search engine. Click any column header to sort.

Table columns
| Column | What it shows |
| Keyword | The tracked search term |
| Vol | Estimated monthly search volume |
| Difficulty | Keyword difficulty score — higher values indicate more competitive terms |
| Domain | The tracked website |
| Engine | The search engine this row tracks |
| Latest | Most recent ranking position, with a data freshness indicator when data is more than one day old |
| Avg Move | Average position movement across the selected date range |
| Avg Pos | Average position across the selected date range |
| Status | Overall ranking trend for the period |
| Action | Camera icon to download a SERP screenshot; chevron to expand the keyword chart |
Position states
The Latest column shows more than a number — it reflects the quality and recency of the data.
| Display | Meaning |
| A number (e.g. 4) | The keyword ranks at that position in current results |
| Not Ranked | The keyword does not appear within the tracked search depth |
| Disappeared | The keyword was ranking previously but is no longer found in results |
| No Data | No ranking check data is available for this keyword |
Data freshness
A small label beneath the position number shows how recently the ranking was checked. Positions checked more than three days ago display in a different colour to indicate ageing data. Positions older than seven days display as stale.
| Freshness label | What it means |
| (no label) | Data checked today |
| Yesterday | Data is one day old |
| X days ago | Data is 2–7 days old |
| A specific date | Data is more than a week old — treat with caution |
Status values
| Status | Meaning |
| improving | Position number is decreasing — moving toward position 1 |
| declining | Position number is increasing — moving away from position 1 |
| stable | No change in position |
| new | Keyword has gained a ranking for the first time in this period |
| out | Keyword had a ranking but no longer appears in results |
| NA | Status cannot be determined — no comparable data |
What should I do next?
The keyword's current position determines where to focus effort.
| Position | Situation | Action |
| 1–3 | Excellent visibility | Protect it. Avoid changes without a clear plan. |
| 4–10 | First page — quick wins | Run AI Analysis and implement 1–3 updates. |
| 11–20 | Second page | Stronger content required. Expect more work. |
| 21–100 | Deep results | Major improvements needed. Focus on highest-volume keywords first. |
| Not Ranked / Disappeared | No visibility | Verify tracking is active, then run AI Analysis. |
| No Data | Missing data | Verify the keyword is enabled in the selected search group. |
| Flat line, poor position | Stalled | Check when data last updated, then prioritise highest-volume keywords. |
Using the filters
Filters sit above the keyword table. Changing any filter refreshes the data automatically.
Keyword search
Type any part of a keyword to filter the table in real time. The search matches anywhere within the keyword text.
Date range
| Option | Best for |
| 7 Days | Recent changes |
| 30 Days | Trend analysis (default) |
| 60 / 90 / 180 Days | Medium-term patterns |
| 1 Year | Long-term trends |
Search group
A search group is a collection of tracked keywords organised by website, location, or device type — for example, "example.com – UK – Desktop". Selecting a group limits the table to keywords tracked within it.
Category
Categories group keywords by topic or page type (such as "Product Pages" or "Blog Posts"). Selecting a category narrows the table to that group. Changing the search group resets the category filter.
Search engine
Filter the table to a single search engine. Only engines with tracked data for the active search group appear in this dropdown.
SERP screenshots
A SERP screenshot captures the actual search results page for a keyword at a specific date. Click the camera icon on any keyword row to open the screenshot panel.
Downloading a screenshot
6. Click the camera icon on the keyword row.
7. Select a date from the dropdown — dates from the last 7 days are available.
8. Select the SERP page to capture (Page 1 = results 1–10, Page 2 = results 11–20, up to Page 10).
9. Click Download Screenshot. The screenshot opens in a new tab.
Screenshot availability
| Setting | Detail |
| Date range | Screenshots are only available for data within the last 7 days |
| SERP pages | Pages 1–10, covering results 1–100 |
| Credits | Each download consumes credits from the account balance |
If no dates appear
No ranking check data exists for this keyword within the last 7 days. Verify the keyword is actively tracked and that checks are running on schedule.
Exporting keyword data
The export function downloads all tracked keyword data as a file — useful for reporting or analysis in external tools. The export includes all keywords without pagination.
What the export includes
| Field | Description |
| Keyword | The tracked search term |
| Domain | The tracked website |
| Search Engine | The engine this row tracks |
| Current Position | Most recent ranking position |
| Previous Position | Position from the prior day |
| Movement | Change from previous to current (positive = declined, negative = improved; "new", "out", or "NA" where applicable) |
| Trend | improving, declining, stable, or NA |
| % Change | Percentage movement from previous to current position |
| 30-Day Average Position | Average ranking across the last 30 days |
The keyword summary chart
Clicking any row in the keywords table expands it to reveal the Keyword Summary Chart — a line chart that plots ranking position over time for that specific keyword.

Reading the chart
Position 1 sits at the top because that is the best place to be — like leading a race. An upward trend means improving rankings; a downward trend signals decline.
| Line style | Meaning |
| Solid line | Site performance |
| Dotted line | Competitor performance (when tracked) |
| Each colour | A different search engine |
| Small dots on line | Carried-forward data — no fresh check that day; previous position shown for continuity |
| Chart element | Meaning |
| Shaded band at top | Not ranked — keyword not found in results |
| Dashed red line | Page 10 boundary (position 100) |
Interactive features
• Hover over any data point to see the exact date, position, and search engine for all visible lines.
• Click legend items to show or hide individual lines.
• Export chart via the ⋮ menu to download as PNG, JPEG, or SVG.
• Export analysis — after AI Analysis completes, click the file icon to download the full analysis as plain text.
Annotations
Annotations mark significant events on the chart — content updates, algorithm changes, technical fixes — so ranking changes have context.
Adding an annotation
10. Click any point along the X-axis on the chart.
11. Type a label in the text box that appears.
12. Press Enter or click Save.
A red dashed vertical line appears at that date, labelled with the text entered.
Deleting an annotation
Click the annotation label on the chart. Confirm deletion when prompted. The line is removed immediately.
AI Analysis
AI Analysis examines ranking history and page content to identify specific changes that will improve search performance. The analysis compares the site's page against a competitor's page and surfaces prioritised, actionable recommendations.

Running an analysis
13. Set the date range and confirm the correct search group and competitor.
14. Click AI Analysis.
15. Wait for processing — typically 30–90 seconds.
16. Review the results below the chart.
What the analysis delivers
Results appear in up to three recommendation categories followed by a collapsible Detailed Analysis section.
| Category | What it covers |
| Structure Improvements | Changes to headings, paragraph order, and page architecture |
| Semantic Gaps | Topics and keywords missing from the page that competitors cover |
| User Engagement Fixes | Issues with how content holds visitor attention |
Each recommendation includes:
• Title — a brief headline
• Current State — what the page does now
• Recommended Change — the specific improvement to make
• Movement Justification — why this change addresses the observed ranking pattern
• Priority — Immediate, Near-term, or Can-wait
Priority levels
| Priority | Meaning | Timeframe |
| Immediate | Large ranking gap on a high-volume keyword | 1–2 weeks |
| Near-term | Moderate gap or unstable rankings | 1–2 months |
| Can-wait | Minor improvement | When time allows |
Detailed analysis
Expand the Detailed Analysis section beneath the recommendations to see position intelligence, content analysis, competitor insights, and engine-by-engine performance breakdowns.
Adding recommendations to the Action Board
Any AI Analysis recommendation can be sent to the Action Board as a task, with all context pre-filled.
17. Find the recommendation to action.
18. Click Add to Board.
19. Select the project from the dropdown.
20. Click Confirm Selection. The task is created immediately.
The task includes the keyword, page URL, recommended change, and priority. All context carries across.
Troubleshooting
Keyword shows No Data
• Verify the keyword is enabled and actively tracked in the selected search group.
• Expand the date range — the keyword may have data outside the current window.
Position shows as stale or ageing
• A stale position means no ranking check has run in more than seven days. Check that the search group is enabled and checks are running on schedule.
Disappeared vs Not Ranked
• Not Ranked — the keyword did not appear in the most recent check within the tracked search depth.
• Disappeared — the keyword was previously ranking but is now absent from results. This is a more significant change and warrants investigation.
No chart appears after clicking a row
• Verify the correct search group is selected.
• Expand the date range to check whether data exists for a longer period.
• Confirm the keyword is actively tracked.
Competitor line not showing on the chart
• The competitor may not rank for this keyword. Switch to All Competitors to check.
• Click the competitor's legend item — it may be hidden.
• Verify competitor tracking is enabled in Manage Competitors.
Small dots on the chart line
Small dots indicate carried-forward data. No fresh ranking check occurred on those days, so the previous known position is displayed for continuity. This is not estimated data.
SERP screenshot — no dates available
Screenshots are only available for data within the last 7 days. If no dates appear, no ranking check data exists for this keyword in that window. Verify the keyword is actively tracked.
SERP screenshot — insufficient credits
Each screenshot download consumes credits. The download button is disabled when the account balance is too low. Add credits to the account to continue.
AI Analysis taking too long
21. Switch to 7 Days to reduce data volume.
22. Click AI Analysis again.
If the issue persists, the page content may be temporarily inaccessible. The analysis uses available ranking data only.
Flat line on the chart
Rankings have not changed during the selected period. A flat line at a strong position requires no action. A flat line at a poor position indicates the keyword needs attention.
FAQ
How often does ranking data update?
Rankings update daily. Exact timing depends on account configuration and keyword volume.
What is the difference between Disappeared and Not Ranked?
Not Ranked means the keyword was not found in the most recent check. Disappeared means it was previously ranking and is now absent — a more significant change worth investigating.
Why do different tools show different positions?
Ranking tools check from different locations, times, and devices. Differences of a few positions are normal and expected.
Why does the chart line go upward when rankings improved?
Position 1 sits at the top of the chart — like a first-place finisher leading a race. Moving up the chart means the position number is getting smaller, which means better rankings.
Can multiple competitors be shown on the chart at once?
Select All Competitors to see a combined competitor average plotted as a dotted line alongside site performance.
Why are screenshots only available for the last 7 days?
SERP screenshots are generated from stored ranking check data. Data older than 7 days is retained for trend analysis, but the underlying page captures are not kept beyond that window.
The AI recommendations seem basic — why?
If recommendations appear straightforward, the page likely already has strong SEO fundamentals, or competitive gaps are small. The analysis surfaces only changes directly supported by the data.
Why is the Not Ranked band at the top of the chart?
The Y-axis is inverted so that better positions appear higher. Keywords with no ranking result are placed in the Not Ranked band above all tracked positions.
