The summary table
The table shows one row per keyword, per search engine, per search group. Each row displays the latest ranking data along with period averages and trend status.
Table columns
| Column | Description |
| Keyword | The search term being tracked |
| Vol | Monthly search volume estimate |
| Difficulty | Keyword difficulty score (competition level) |
| Domain | The website being tracked for this keyword |
| Engine | Search engine (Google, Bing, Yahoo) |
| Latest | Most recent ranking position with data date |
| Avg Move | Average position change over the selected period |
| Avg Pos | Average ranking position over the selected period |
| Status | Trend indicator (Improving, Stable, Declining) |
Position values
The Latest column shows the most recent ranking position. Several special states indicate specific situations.

| 1–100 | Actual ranking position in search results |
| Not Ranked | Keyword checked but not found in top 100 results |
| Disappeared | Previously ranked but no longer appears in results |

Related tabs
The Keyword Summary Table sits within a tabbed interface. Other tabs provide filtered views of the same data.
| Tab | Shows |
| All Keywords | Complete keyword list (this table) |
| Position Gains | Keywords that improved rankings |
| Position Drops | Keywords that lost rankings |
| Lost Keywords | Keywords that disappeared from results |
| Opportunities | Keyword gaps where competitors rank but the site does not |
| Distribution | Visual breakdown of positions across ranking bands |
The ranking chart
Click any row in the table to open the ranking chart. The chart visualises ranking positions over time for that keyword, showing performance across search engines and against competitors.
Understanding the display
The chart displays position over time with position 1 at the top. An upward trend indicates improving rankings. A downward trend indicates decline. Lower position numbers are better. Position 1 sits at the top because that is the goal—like leading a race.
Chart elements
| Element | Meaning |
| Solid lines | Site performance for each search engine |
| Dotted lines | Competitor performance (when tracked) |
| Small dots on line | Carried-forward data (no fresh check that day) |
| Grey band at bottom | "Not Ranked" zone—keyword not in top 100 |
| Red dashed line | Page 10 threshold (position 100) |
| Line colours | Different search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo) |
Position interpretation
| Position range | Visibility level |
| 1–3 | Top of results, maximum visibility |
| 4–10 | First page, strong visibility |
| 11–20 | Second page, limited visibility |
| 21–100 | Deep in results, minimal traffic |
| Not Ranked | Outside top 100, no organic visibility |
Carried-forward data
When no ranking check occurs on a given day, the chart displays the previous known position as a small dot. This is not estimated data—it is the last confirmed position. The system maintains visual continuity without implying a check occurred.
Interactive features
Click any legend item to show or hide that data series. Hidden items appear greyed out. This helps isolate specific search engines or compare site versus competitor performance.
Hover over any point on the chart to see the exact date, position, and search engine. The tooltip shows all visible series for that date.
Click the menu icon in the chart corner to export as PNG, JPEG, or SVG. Exported images include the current view with all visible series and filters applied.
Using the filters
Filters apply to both the table and chart views.
Date range
Controls the time period displayed. Longer ranges reveal patterns. Shorter ranges focus on recent changes.
| Period | Best for |
| 7 days | Troubleshooting sudden drops |
| 30 days | Standard trend analysis (default) |
| 60 days | Medium-term pattern recognition |
| 90 days | Quarterly performance review |
| 180 days | Seasonal pattern analysis |
| 365 days | Year-over-year comparison |
Search group
A search group organises keywords by website, location, or device type. Select from the page-level dropdown. The table displays only keywords belonging to that search group.
Category
Keywords can be organised into categories such as "Product Pages" or "Blog Posts". Select a category to focus analysis on a specific content type. Select "All Categories" to view everything.
Search engine
Filter by Google, Bing, or Yahoo. Select "All Engines" to see combined results. Different engines return different rankings—this is normal behaviour.
Competitor (chart only)
Select a specific competitor to compare against, or choose "All Competitors" to see aggregated competitor data. Competitor lines appear as dotted lines in matching colours to their search engine.
When a competitor is selected, AI Analysis compares page content and provides specific recommendations based on what the competitor does differently.
Keyword search
Type in the search box to filter keywords containing that text. The table updates as characters are typed. Clear the box to show all keywords again.
Using the Keyword Search
The search box at the top of the table helps you find specific keywords quickly.
How to use it:
- Type any part of the keyword you're looking for
- The table filters in real-time
- Clear the box to see all keywords again
Search tips:
- Partial matches work (typing "coffee" finds "best coffee machines")
- Case doesn't matter
- Results update as you type
Additional features
SERP screenshot
Click the camera icon on any table row to download a screenshot of the search results page. This captures what Google (or other engines) displayed when the ranking was recorded.
1. Click the camera icon
2. Select the date from available options (last 7 days)
3. Choose the SERP page (results 1–10, 11–20, etc.)
4. Click Download Screenshot
Screenshots consume credits. The modal displays available balance before download. Screenshots are only stored for seven days.
Export
Click the export button (CSV icon) to download the current table data. The export respects active filters—only visible data exports.
AI Analysis
AI Analysis examines ranking data, page content, and competitor pages to deliver specific, actionable
recommendations. The analysis identifies why rankings are where they are and
what changes will improve them.
Running an analysis
1. Open the chart for a keyword (click a table row)
2. Optionally select a competitor for comparison
3. Click AI Analysis
4. Wait for processing (typically 30–60 seconds)
5. Review recommendations below the chart
The analysis scrapes the ranking page and competitor page (when selected) to compare content. This consumes credits—the system checks balance before proceeding.
What the analysis delivers
Structure Improvements: Specific changes to page structure, headings, and content organisation. Each recommendation includes the exact section to modify and what to change.
Semantic Gaps: Topics or terms competitors cover that the page lacks. Recommendations explain what to add and where competitors handle the topic.
User Engagement Fixes: Issues affecting how visitors interact with the page, with specific improvements to address each problem.
Competitive Strategy: An action plan sequencing recommendations by urgency and impact.

Priority levels
| Priority | Meaning |
| Immediate | Address within 1–2 weeks. Large impact on rankings. |
| Near-term | Address within 1–2 months. Moderate impact. |
| Can-wait | Address when time permits. Minor improvements. |
Click the "Detailed Analysis" toggle to expand additional insights including engine-specific performance, ranking root causes, and content evaluation.
Adding recommendations to Kanban
Each recommendation includes an "Add to Kanban" button. Clicking this creates a task in the selected project with all recommendation details pre-filled.
1. Click + Add to Kanban on a recommendation
2. Select the target project from the dropdown
3. Click Confirm Selection
The button changes to "Added" once the task is created. Tasks include the page URL, keyword, section, current state, and recommended action.
What should I do next?
The table and chart data guide prioritisation. Focus on high-value keywords showing concerning trends.

| Position 4–10 + Stable | Opportunity for quick wins. Small improvements reach page 1. |
| Not Ranked + High volume | Major opportunity. Consider content creation or optimisation. |
| Disappeared | Check if page still exists. Review recent site changes. |
| Position 1–3 + Stable | Protect this ranking. Avoid unnecessary changes. |
| Low volume + Any status | Lower priority unless strategically important. |
Chart patterns
| Pattern | Action |
| Steady decline across engines | Run AI Analysis immediately. Check for technical issues. |
| Volatile (frequent ups and downs) | Normal for competitive keywords. Focus on content quality. |
| Improving trend | Protect momentum. Avoid major changes. |
| Competitor outranking consistently | Select that competitor and run AI Analysis for gap analysis. |
| Dropped into "Not Ranked" zone | Investigate urgently. Check for penalties or page issues. |
| Different positions per engine | Normal behaviour. Prioritise the engine with most traffic. |
| Flat line at poor position | Content needs significant improvement. Run analysis for specifics. |
Troubleshooting
Table issues
No data showing: The table requires a search group selection. Select one from the page dropdown. If no keywords appear, verify keywords have been added for tracking in that search group.
All keywords show "No Data": Ranking checks run on a schedule. New keywords need time for the first check to complete. Allow up to 24 hours for initial data to appear.
Avg Move and Avg Pos show dashes: Averages require multiple data points within the selected date range. Extend the date range or wait for more data.
Data appears stale: The ranking check schedule determines update frequency. Account tier and keyword volume affect how often checks run. Contact support if data is consistently outdated.
Screenshot unavailable: Screenshots are only stored for seven days. If no dates appear in the dropdown, no screenshots exist for that keyword within the retention window.
Chart issues
Chart shows no data: The keyword requires ranking data within the selected date range. Extend the date range or verify the keyword has been tracked for the period selected.
Only one search engine visible: Other engines are hidden in the legend. Click the greyed-out legend items to show them. Alternatively, the keyword may only be tracked on one engine.
Competitor line not showing: The competitor must rank for the same keyword to appear. If "All Competitors" shows no data, no tracked competitors rank for this term.
AI Analysis issues
AI Analysis fails or times out: Large date ranges or complex pages take longer. Try reducing the date range to 7 days. If the problem persists, the page content may be inaccessible for scraping.
"Insufficient credits" message: AI Analysis requires credits for page scraping. Check account balance in settings. Each analysis scrapes up to two pages (site and competitor).
Recommendations seem basic: When the page already follows SEO fundamentals, recommendations focus on refinements. Small gaps between site and competitor result in smaller improvement opportunities.
How often do rankings update?
Rankings typically update daily. Exact timing depends on account configuration and the number of keywords being tracked.
Why do I see the same keyword multiple times?
Keywords appear once per search engine and search group combination. The same keyword tracked on Google and Bing shows as two rows.
How is Avg Move calculated?
Avg Move is the average of daily position changes over the selected period. Positive values indicate improvement. Negative values indicate decline.
What do small dots on the line mean?
Small dots indicate carried-forward data—no fresh ranking check occurred that day, so the previous position is displayed for visual continuity.
How is competitor data selected?
When "All Competitors" is selected, the system uses your specified competitors which set set up in the manage competitors tool. When a specific competitor is selected, that competitor's data is used directly.
Can I add annotations to the chart?
Annotations configured elsewhere in the platform appear on the chart automatically. They display as labels at the relevant dates.
