Managing Keywords
Keyword Management organises the keywords, websites, and markets that drive ranking data across wheremore.
Quick start
1. Select a website from the header dropdown — or leave it on All websites to see everything.
2. Review the Keywords tab to check which terms are tracked.
3. + Add keywords to add new terms. Enter one per line and optionally assign categories.
4. Switch to the Markets tab and confirm at least one market shows Active.
5. Fetch KD & volume to pull keyword difficulty and monthly search volume for any website.
Understanding the display
Keyword Management has two tabs. The website selector at the top applies to both.
Keywords tab
The Keywords tab lists every tracked keyword with its website, categories, monthly search volume, and keyword difficulty (KD).

| Column | What it shows | Notes |
| Keyword | The tracked search term | Sortable A–Z or Z–A |
| Website | The website this keyword belongs to | Sortable |
| Categories | Tags assigned to this keyword | Add or remove inline |
| Volume | Estimated monthly searches | Requires Fetch KD & volume |
| KD | Keyword difficulty | Low / Med / High — requires Fetch KD & volume |
KD ratings indicate how competitive a keyword is:
• Low — easier to rank for. Good targets for new pages.
• Med — moderate competition. Achievable with quality content.
• High — highly competitive. Requires strong content and authority.
Click any column header to sort the table. Use the search box to filter by keyword text, or select a category to narrow the view. The stats bar above the table shows total keywords, websites, categories, and an alert for any uncategorised keywords.
Markets tab
A market defines a specific context for ranking checks: a website, a location, a device type, and one or more search engines. Rankings only track for active markets.

| Column | What it shows |
| Market name | A label for the market — for reference only |
| Location | The geographic location used for ranking checks |
| Device | Desktop or Mobile |
| Engines | The search engines included in this market |
| Status | Active (running) or Paused (suspended) |
What should I do next?
| What you see | What it means | Action |
| Volume and KD show dashes | Metrics not yet fetched | Click Fetch KD & volume |
| Warning badge: X uncategorised | Keywords without categories | Assign categories for better filtering |
| No markets configured | Rankings not being checked | Add at least one market |
| Market shows Paused | Ranking checks suspended | Toggle the status switch to Active |
| No keywords in the table | None added yet | Click + Add keywords |
| Keywords present but no ranking data | Market may be missing or paused | Check the Markets tab |
Adding keywords
Keywords belong to a specific website. The panel accepts multiple keywords at once — one per line.

How to add keywords
6. + Add keywords in the toolbar.
7. Select the website from the dropdown (locks automatically if a website is already selected in the header).
8. Enter keywords — one per line. Duplicates are detected and skipped automatically.
9. Optionally select one or more categories, or create a new one inline.
10. Save keywords.
Keywords added to a website appear in ranking checks for every active market linked to that website.
Categorising keywords
Categories group keywords for easier filtering and analysis. Each category belongs to a specific website — categories from one website do not appear on another.
Assigning categories inline

In the Keywords table, find the keyword and click Assign category (or the + button if it already has categories). The popover shows existing categories for that website and an option to create a new one.
Managing categories

11. Click Manage categories below the website selector.
12. Select a specific website first — category management requires a website to be active.
13. Rename or delete existing categories, or add new ones using the input at the bottom.
Deleting a category removes it from all keywords it was assigned to. The keywords remain.
Fetching KD & volume
Keyword difficulty and monthly search volume are not collected automatically. Run a fetch to populate these columns for a selected website.
How to fetch
14. Fetch KD & volume in the toolbar.
15. Select the website. The panel shows how many keywords will be updated.
16. Fetch metrics. The table updates when complete.
Volume reflects estimated monthly search demand. KD reflects how competitive the keyword is across search results. Both update in the table immediately after the fetch completes.
Managing markets
Markets control which contexts wheremore checks rankings for. A website can have multiple markets — for example, separate markets for UK Desktop and US Mobile.

Adding a market
17. + Add market in the Markets tab toolbar.
18. Select the website.
19. Enter a market name — a label for your reference only.
20. Search for and select a location.
21. Choose Desktop or Mobile.
22. Select at least one search engine — Google or Yahoo.
23. Save market. The market appears in the table with Active status.
Pausing and resuming a market
Use the toggle in the Status column to switch a market between Active and Paused. Pausing suspends ranking checks without deleting data.
Deleting a market
Click the delete icon on the market row and confirm. All ranking data for that market is removed permanently.
Managing websites
Websites are the top-level containers for keywords, categories, and markets.

Adding a website
24. Click Manage websites below the website selector.
25. Enter the domain name (example.com). The protocol is stripped automatically.
26. Add.
Deleting a website
Click the delete icon next to the website in the Manage websites panel. Deleting a website permanently removes all its keywords, categories, and markets.
Troubleshooting
Volume and KD columns show dashes
Metrics have not been fetched for this website. Open Fetch KD & volume, select the website, and click Fetch metrics.
No keywords appear
Check the website selector — it may be set to a specific site with no keywords. Also check the category filter and search box. Clear both to see all keywords for the active website.
The category popover shows no existing categories
Categories are scoped to each website. If no categories exist for that website yet, create one using the input at the bottom of the popover.
Market added but no ranking data appears
Rankings are collected on a schedule after a market is saved. Data typically appears within 24 hours of the first check. Confirm the market shows Active in the Status column.
Cannot manage categories — input is disabled
Category management requires a specific website to be selected. Open the website selector in the header and choose a website rather than All websites, then return to Manage categories.
FAQ
Can a keyword belong to more than one category?
Yes. Assign multiple categories to any keyword using the inline popover in the Keywords table.
Can the same keyword exist on multiple websites?
Yes. Keywords belong to a specific website. The same term tracked across two websites appears as two separate rows in the table.
What is the difference between a market and a website?
A website is the domain being tracked. A market defines how that website is tracked — the location, device, and search engines used for ranking checks. One website can have several markets.
Do I need to re-add keywords when I add a new market?
No. All keywords already associated with a website are included in every market added to that website.
What happens to rankings when a market is paused?
Ranking checks stop. Existing data is preserved. Resume the market at any time by toggling the status switch back to Active.
Can I add the same website twice?
No. Each website can only be added once per account. An error message appears if you attempt to add a duplicate.
Getting help
• Use the search box and category filter to narrow down what you are looking at before investigating issues.
• Check the Markets tab first if ranking data is missing — an inactive or missing market is the most common cause.
• Contact support if keywords or markets appear to be missing after being saved.
