Managing Domains and Websites
Manage Websites controls which domains wheremore tracks — adding, reviewing, and removing the websites that keywords and markets are built around.
Quick start
1. Open Keyword Management and click Manage websites below the website selector.
2. Review the list to confirm the correct domains are present.
3. Click Add to register a new domain, entering just the domain name (example.com).
4. Return to the Keywords tab and add keywords to the new website.
5. Switch to the Markets tab and add at least one market to begin ranking checks.
Understanding the display
The Manage websites panel opens as a slide-out from the left side of Keyword Management. Each row represents a tracked domain.
| Column | What it shows |
| Domain name | The tracked domain, stripped of protocol and trailing slash |
| Keyword count | Number of keywords currently assigned to this website |
| Delete | Permanently removes the website and all associated data |
The website selector in the header reflects this list in real time. Adding or removing a website here updates the selector immediately.
What should I do next?
| What you see | What it means | Action |
| No websites listed | No domains added yet | Add the first website |
| Website shows 0 keywords | Domain added but no terms tracked | Go to Keywords tab and add keywords |
| Website present, no ranking data anywhere | No active market exists | Go to Markets tab and add a market |
| Old domain no longer needed | Tracking is wasting checks | Delete the website |
Adding a website
Each website is a separate tracking container. Keywords, categories, and markets all belong to a specific website — adding one does not affect any other.
How to add a website
6. Click Manage websites below the website selector in Keyword Management.
7. Type the domain name in the input field — for example, example.com. The protocol (https://) and trailing slash are stripped automatically.
8. Click Add. The website appears in the list immediately and becomes available in the header selector.
The new website contains no keywords or markets. Add both before expecting ranking data.
Deleting a website
Deleting a website is permanent. All keywords, categories, and markets associated with that domain are removed, along with any ranking history collected for those markets.
How to delete a website
9. Open Manage websites.
10. Find the website to remove.
11. Click the delete icon on that row.
12. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
There is no recovery path. If ranking history matters, export or record it before deleting.
Troubleshooting
The website I added is not appearing in the selector
The selector updates immediately after a website is added. Refresh the page if the entry is missing. If it still does not appear, check whether the add action returned an error.
An error says the website already exists
Each domain can only be added once per workspace. If the domain is not visible in the list, check whether All websites is selected — the website may exist but be hidden by a filter.
The delete icon is not responding
The confirmation prompt must be accepted before deletion proceeds. If no prompt appears, check whether a browser extension is blocking dialogue boxes.
Ranking data disappeared after deleting a website
Deleting a website removes all associated markets and their ranking history. This cannot be undone. Recreating the website and its markets will restart data collection from that point forward.
FAQ
Can the same domain be added more than once?
No. Each domain can only be added once per workspace. An error appears if a duplicate entry is attempted.
Does deleting a website affect other features?
Yes. Any charts, analyses, or reports that reference that website's search groups will no longer have data to display. Remove a website only when tracking is no longer needed.
Can a website be renamed?
No. Domain names cannot be edited after creation. Delete the entry and add the correct domain if a name change is needed. Historical data from the original entry will not transfer.
Do I need a separate website entry for subdomains?
Yes. blog.example.com and example.com are tracked independently. Add each subdomain as its own website if separate ranking data is needed.
Does adding a website start ranking checks immediately?
No. A website with no markets does not generate ranking data. Add keywords and at least one active market to begin collection.
Getting help
• If a website is missing from the selector, open Manage websites to confirm it was saved correctly.
• If ranking data disappears unexpectedly, check the Markets tab — a deleted or paused market is the most common cause.
• Contact support if a website cannot be deleted or if data appears for a domain that was removed.
