Managing Domains and Websites
Add the websites whose keywords and markets need to be organised in the active workspace.
Overview
Wheremore calls tracked domains websites in Manage Keywords. Each website holds its own keywords, categories and markets.
The same domain can exist as a separate website record in another workspace. Work completed in one workspace does not automatically change the other workspace’s setup.
Quick start
- Select the required workspace.
- Open Manage Keywords.
- Select Manage websites & categories.
- Enter the domain in the website field.
- Select Add.
Enter the domain without a page path. Wheremore removes a leading web protocol when the website is saved.
View websites
The management panel lists each website in the active workspace. The number beside a website shows how many keywords are saved against it.
Use the main Website selector to show one website or All websites. Selecting one website also enables that website’s category controls.
Add a website
- Open Manage websites & categories.
- Enter a domain such as
example.com. - Select Add.
A success message confirms the website. If the same website already exists in the active workspace, Wheremore displays an error instead of creating a duplicate.
Delete a website
Website deletion is permanent when the record is no longer used by another workspace. Its keywords and website-specific categories are also removed.
- Open Manage websites & categories.
- Find the website.
- Select its delete icon.
- Review the confirmation.
- Confirm deletion.
Wheremore blocks deletion when the website still has markets. Delete those markets first, then return to the website panel.
Only the website owner can delete the website record. Other users need the owner to complete this action.
What should I do next?
| Situation | Action |
|---|---|
| New website has no keywords | Open Manage Keywords and Keyword Metrics. |
| Keywords need grouping | Create categories with Manage Categories. |
| Keywords are saved but untracked | Add a setup with Manage Markets. |
| Website has markets and must be removed | Delete its markets before the website. |
| Comparison data is needed | Configure Manage Competitors after adding a market. |
Access and shared changes
Only websites available in the active workspace appear. Wheremore rejects attempts to manage a website outside the signed-in user’s accessible workspace.
Website changes are shared. Other collaborators with access to the same website will see additions and deletions.
Troubleshooting
This website is already in this workspace
Select the existing website from the Website selector. A second record is not required in the same workspace.
Delete this website’s markets first
- Close the management panel.
- Open Markets.
- Delete every market for the website.
- Return to Manage websites & categories.
- Delete the website.
The website does not appear
- Check the active workspace.
- Confirm the add action showed a success message.
- Refresh the page.
- Check access if the website remains missing.
The Add button does nothing
Remove any page path and enter a valid domain. For example, use example.com instead of a full article address.
Frequently asked questions
Can the same domain be used in two workspaces?
Yes. Each workspace can hold its own website record and management setup.
Can a website be renamed?
The current management panel supports adding and deleting websites. Add the correct domain and remove the incorrect record after clearing its markets.
What is removed with a website?
Its saved keywords and website-specific categories are removed when the website record is deleted. Markets must be removed first.
Why is deletion blocked?
Markets depend on the website. The guard prevents their tracking data from being removed unintentionally.
