User Behaviour Dashboard

The User Behaviour dashboard shows how visitors engage with the pages of a website. It covers how many sessions each page had, how far visitors scrolled, where they spent time and clicked, which areas they came back to or clicked repeatedly, and where the traffic came from. For a page that is part of a conversion path, it also compares visitors who completed the path with those who did not. You can export the dashboard to Excel or CSV and run an AI analysis of any single page.

Choose the website, page and period

The filters at the top of the User Behaviour dashboard control every section below them. While the dashboard is loading, the filters are greyed out.

Filter What it does
Website The website to report on.
Page All pages, or one page. Compare conversion behaviour and Analyse with AI both need one page.
Date range Last 7, 30, 60 or 90 days, or your own start and end dates. The default is Last 30 days, ending today.
Device All devices, Desktop, Mobile or Tablet.
Audience All traffic, or visitors split by whether they were signed in to your website. This is sign-in state, not new versus returning visitors.
Traffic source All traffic sources, Direct, or a single referring page. The list shows the sources recorded for the current selection. With a single source selected, some measures still include every source.

Every section compares the selected period with the previous period: the same number of days immediately before it. For 18 Aug–16 Sep 2026, the previous period is 19 Jul–17 Aug 2026.

A custom date range must be 366 days or fewer, must end on or after its start date, and cannot end in the future. Otherwise you will see one of these messages:

Message What to change
Choose an end date on or after the start date. Move the end date later, or the start date earlier.
Choose a date range of 366 days or fewer. Shorten the range.
The end date cannot be in the future. Set the end date to today or earlier.

What resets when you change the website, page or workspace

You change What resets
Website Page returns to All pages, Traffic source returns to All traffic sources, and conversion comparison switches off.
Page Conversion comparison switches off.
Workspace Website, page, traffic source and conversion comparison all reset.

Which measures a single traffic source filters

Choosing one traffic source on the User Behaviour dashboard does not filter every measure.

Measure Filtered by a single traffic source?
Sessions, Sessions over time, Traffic sources, Page performance Sessions Yes.
Clicks per session, the Clicks view in Page depth engagement, Page performance Clicks/session Yes, when click tracking by source covers both periods. Otherwise they show a message or a dash instead of a value.
Rage-click sessions and Rage-click elements Yes.
Average scroll depth, Reach and Time views, Largest reach drop, Page performance Avg. scroll No. They still include every source.
Average time spent, Page performance Avg. time Not reliable for a single source. Use All traffic sources.
Conversion comparison Not available. Set Traffic source to All traffic sources.
Analyse with AI Runs, but leaves out how far visitors scrolled and the time spent at each depth.

Compare conversion behaviour switch

The Compare conversion behaviour switch appears in the User Behaviour filter bar only when one page is selected and that page is part of a conversion path active in the selected period. If the page is in more than one path, Conversion path appears next to the switch after you turn it on. Choose a path there, and the comparison loads. How the comparison works is covered in Compare conversion behaviour.

Copy link copies the page address, which holds the current workspace, website, page, dates, device, audience, traffic source and conversion settings. The button changes to Link copied.

The link keeps the exact dates. Someone who opens it next week sees the same period, not the latest 30 days. They also need access to the same website in the same workspace.

If copying fails, you will see "The link could not be copied. Copy it from the address bar instead."

Engagement overview cards

Engagement overview is the row of four cards at the top of the User Behaviour dashboard. The line under the title shows the selected period and the period it is compared with.

Card What it shows
Sessions Page sessions for the selected page or pages in the period. With All pages, a visit that viewed three pages counts three times.
Average time spent Time recorded on the page, divided by sessions.
Average scroll depth How far down the page sessions scrolled, on average.
Clicks per session Clicks recorded on the page, divided by sessions. Each click counts, so this is not the share of visitors who clicked.

Each card shows the current value, the change from the previous period and the previous value. The change is the difference between the two periods: sessions for Sessions, minutes and seconds for Average time spent, and percentage points for Average scroll depth.

The colour of the change shows direction only. Green means the value rose, red means it fell and orange means it did not change. A fall is not always bad: a shorter visit can mean the page answered the question quickly. "No comparison available" means there is no previous value to compare with.

With a single traffic source selected, Average scroll depth still includes visits from every source, and Average time spent is not a reliable figure for that source. Use All traffic sources when you read these two cards.

A card with no value shows the reason:

Message Meaning
No qualifying sessions were available. Nothing was recorded for this selection.
No recorded page-time observations were available. No time on the page was recorded for this selection.
No scroll observations were available. No scrolling was recorded for this selection.
Recent click detail is still being prepared. With a single traffic source selected, click data is being updated. Try again later, or choose All traffic sources.
This traffic source does not yet cover both periods. Clicks for a single traffic source are only available when both the selected and previous periods fall within the time click tracking by source has run. Choose a more recent, shorter period, or All traffic sources.

Page depth engagement: Reach, Time and Clicks

Page depth engagement shows behaviour at each point down the page, from 0% at the top to 100% at the bottom, in 5% steps. Selected period and Previous period are drawn as separate series. Choose a view with the tabs.

Tab What it shows
Reach The share of recorded sessions that scrolled at least this far. It always starts at 100%.
Time The average time recorded at each depth, for sessions that reached it.
Clicks The number of clicks recorded at each depth.

Reach and Time are based on how far visitors scrolled. Clicks are placed by where on the page each click happened. The two do not line up exactly. Scrolling to a depth does not tell you which content a visitor saw there.

With a single traffic source selected, Reach and Time still include visits from every source. Clicks are filtered by source. If click tracking by source does not cover both periods, the Clicks view shows "Click data for this traffic source does not cover both periods yet."

With conversion comparison on, dashed lines show the Converted and Dropped off groups. The legend gives the number of measured attempts in each group. Reach shows the share of each group's attempts. Time and Clicks show seconds and clicks per measured attempt, on the right-hand axis. If a group cannot be drawn, a note under the chart says so, for example "Dropped off: no confirmed attempts".

Message Meaning
No page-depth data was found for this selection. No scrolling or time was recorded for this selection.
No clicks were recorded for this selection. No clicks were recorded for this selection.
Recent click detail is still being prepared. With a single traffic source selected, click data is being updated. Try again later, or choose All traffic sources.

Sessions over time chart

Sessions over time shows daily sessions for the selected period, with the previous period as a dashed line on the same days. Hover over a day to see its sessions. With All devices selected, the tooltip also splits each day into Desktop, Mobile and Tablet. Sessions over time is filtered by every filter, including a single traffic source.

If nothing was recorded, the chart shows "No sessions were recorded for this selection."

Compare conversion behaviour

Conversion comparison shows how visitors who completed a conversion path behaved on the selected page, compared with those who did not.

To turn it on:

  1. Select one page in Page. The Compare conversion behaviour switch appears only when that page is part of a conversion path active in the selected period.
  2. Turn on Compare conversion behaviour.
  3. If the page is in more than one path, Conversion path appears. Choose a path there.
  4. Keep Traffic source set to All traffic sources. Conversion comparison does not work with a single source.

The Conversion comparison card counts attempts: each time a visitor started the path and reached this page.

Label Meaning
Converted The attempt completed the selected conversion path.
Dropped off The time allowed to complete the path ended without a conversion. The visitor did not necessarily leave from this page.
Completion rate Converted attempts as a share of attempts with a confirmed outcome.
Still open Attempts that can still complete. They are left out of the comparison.
Outcome not confirmed Attempts whose outcome is missing or still being checked. They are left out of the comparison.

Attempts are counted by the date they started. Device and Audience use the device and sign-in state at the start of the attempt.

How the two groups behaved compares Average observed time, Clicks per attempt and Pageviews per attempt for each group, on the selected page only. Under each value, a note shows how many attempts in the group had data, for example "4 of 4 attempts with data". "Recorded time only" means some attempts in the group were only partly observed, so the average uses the time that was recorded.

The two groups are observations, not proof of cause. A difference between them does not show why a visitor converted or did not.

With conversion comparison on, other sections change too:

Section Change
Page depth engagement Adds dashed Converted and Dropped off lines.
Attention and friction Shows each measure for the two groups.
Traffic sources Adds Conversion attempts by entry referrer.
Page performance Adds a Conversion outcome column. It uses the words "completed" and "not completed" for the same two groups.
Excel export Adds conversion sheets.

If the comparison cannot be shown, the card says Unavailable with a reason:

Message What to do
Select All traffic sources to compare conversion outcomes. Set Traffic source to All traffic sources.
Choose a shorter date range to compare attempts. The period has too many attempts. Shorten the date range.
Conversion data is refreshing or paused. Try again after the workers finish. Conversion data is being updated. Try again later.
The required conversion data is not available yet. Try again later.
Some conversion evidence could not be verified. Try again later. The comparison is withheld rather than shown with gaps.
Conversion outcomes are not available for this selection. Try another period or path.

Attention and friction signals

Attention and friction shows where reach fell most, which areas visitors came back to, and where they clicked repeatedly.

Label Meaning
Largest reach drop The biggest fall in reach between two neighbouring depths.
Most revisited area The page area the most sessions came back to.
Rage-click sessions The number of sessions with several quick clicks on the same element or spot.
Revisited page areas Sessions returning to each 10% band of the page. Bands with no returns are not shown.
Rage-click elements Up to five elements with rage clicks, with the page, the element, sessions and clicks. "Unlabelled element" means the element has no readable label.

A revisit means a visitor paused on an area, scrolled away and came back to it in the same visit. It can mean useful re-reading as well as confusion. A rage click is a signal to investigate, not proof that something is broken.

With a single traffic source selected, Largest reach drop still includes visits from every source.

Rage clicks are shown only when the whole selected period falls within rage-click tracking. For an earlier period, Rage-click sessions shows "Rage-click evidence is not available yet." and Rage-click elements shows "Rage-click evidence is not available for this selection." Choose a more recent period.

With conversion comparison on, each measure is shown for Converted and Dropped off:

Label Meaning
Largest reach drop The biggest fall in reach for each group, with where it happened.
Attempts returning to an area The share of each group's measured attempts that came back to an area.
Attempts with flagged rage clicks The share of each group's measured attempts with a rage click.

The revisit chart becomes a line for each group, by scroll position in 5% steps. The rage-click list is split into the two groups.

Message Meaning
Measurements available; no qualifying revisits recorded for this selection. Revisits were measured, and there were none.
Revisit measurements are being recalculated. Try again later.
Revisit measurements are being updated. Please try again shortly. Try again later.
No revisit measurements are available for these dates. Revisit tracking does not cover the selected period. Choose a more recent period.
Recent rage-click evidence is still being prepared. Try again later.
No rage-click elements were observed for this selection. Rage clicks were measured, and there were none.

Page performance table

Page performance lists each selected page with its engagement and friction measures. With All pages selected, it lists every page on the website.

Column Meaning
Page The page address. It opens the page in a new tab.
Sessions Visits to the page in the period.
Avg. time Time recorded on the page, divided by sessions.
Avg. scroll How far down the page sessions scrolled, on average.
Clicks/session Clicks divided by sessions.
Revisit rate The share of recorded visits to the page that came back to an area of it.
Rage-click sessions Sessions with rage clicks, shown in red when there are any.
Conversion outcome Shown with conversion comparison on. The completion rate, with completed and not completed attempts.

A dash (—) means the value is not available for this selection. For Rage-click sessions, it usually means the period starts before rage-click tracking.

Type in Filter pages to search page addresses. Click a column heading to sort, and click it again to reverse the order. Rows per page changes how many pages each screen shows.

With a single traffic source selected, Avg. scroll still includes visits from every source, and Avg. time is not a reliable figure for that source.

Traffic sources

Traffic sources shows where sessions came from and which pages received them.

Traffic source mix shows the top five sources plus Other, with sessions and share. Referring pages from the same website are grouped under the site name. Visits from another page on your own website appear under your own domain. Share is calculated from the sessions in this section, which can differ from the Sessions card.

Traffic by page lists every combination of Page, Traffic source and Device, with Sessions and Share. Type in Filter pages or sources to search by page, source or device. Click a column heading to sort. Export CSV downloads the rows that match your search, including Share.

With conversion comparison on, Conversion attempts by entry referrer shows where each group's attempts started. "Direct / no referrer" means the attempt had no referrer. Each value is a count with its share of that group, for example "4 (100%)". "No confirmed attempts" means the group is empty. Entry source is not revenue attribution.

If the section cannot load, it shows "Traffic source mix could not be loaded."

Export the dashboard to Excel or CSV

Export report on the User Behaviour dashboard downloads the dashboard, exactly as currently shown, as an Excel workbook or a CSV file.

  1. Set the filters and wait for the dashboard to load. Export report is greyed out until then.
  2. Select Export report. Export User Behaviour report opens.
  3. Check Report scope.
  4. Choose a file format.
  5. Select Download report.

While the file is built, the button shows Preparing…. Then you will see "Your report download has started." If the file cannot be built, you will see "The report could not be created. Refresh the page and try again."

Analyse a page with AI

Analyse with AI reviews one page. It combines the dashboard measures, the page's text and an image of the page. It tells you what already works and recommends actions only when the evidence justifies them.

  1. Select one page. Analyse with AI is greyed out when All pages is selected.
  2. Set the dates, device, audience, traffic source and conversion comparison you want. The analysis uses the filters shown on the dashboard.
  3. Select Analyse with AI. The User Behaviour panel opens on New analysis, and Analyse this page lists the page, device, audience, traffic source, period and conversion path. To change them, close the panel and change the filters.
  4. Select Analyse with AI in the panel.

Progress shows four steps: Prepare behaviour data, Inspect the page, Analyse the findings and Save your report. You can leave the page. The analysis continues and appears in Recent when it is ready. If you are still on the page, you will see "Your User Behaviour analysis is ready."

Credits are used only when a report completes.

What a User Behaviour AI analysis reads

A User Behaviour AI analysis reads the following for the selected page, using the dashboard filters. Behaviour measures cover both the selected period and the previous period.

Input What is included
Engagement measures Sessions, clicks, clicks per session, recorded time, average time and average scroll depth.
Page depth Reach and recorded time at every 5% of page depth.
Device breakdown With All devices selected, the same measures for Desktop, Mobile and Tablet separately.
Revisits Sessions returning to each 10% band of the page.
Clicks Clicks by position down the page.
Rage clicks Rage-click sessions and the elements that were rage-clicked, when rage clicks are available for the period.
Traffic sources Sessions by source and device.
Conversion comparison With Compare conversion behaviour on: Converted and Dropped off attempts, completion rate, how the two groups behaved and where their attempts started.
Page text The text and links in the page's code, read when the analysis runs. Scripts, form fields and elements marked as hidden are left out; text hidden only by styling may still be read.
Page image An image of the whole page, with lines marking every 5% of its height. It shows the selected device, or desktop when All devices is selected. The page's saved screenshot is used if there is one; otherwise a new one is captured.

If the page text cannot be read, the analysis continues without it. If the page image cannot be captured, the analysis stops with "The page screenshot could not be prepared safely." and no credits are used.

A User Behaviour AI analysis does not read other pages of the website, earlier versions of the page, recordings or details of individual visitors, or campaign or UTM details, and it does no outside research.

What the filters change in an AI analysis

Filter Effect on the analysis
Device: All devices The page image shows the desktop layout. The report does not judge mobile or tablet layout from it.
Traffic source: a single source The analysis leaves out how far visitors scrolled and the time spent at each depth.
Compare conversion behaviour on The analysis includes the Converted and Dropped off comparison.

What the AI analysis looks for

A User Behaviour AI analysis asks whether the page gives its visitors the information and next step they need, and what, if anything, you should change.

It considers How
The page's purpose It infers the purpose from the page and says so, for example "Assuming the page's purpose is…".
What already works It names strengths and content to keep.
The page content The opening message, content order, clarity, completeness, proof and calls to action.
Behaviour Changes from the previous period, and differences between devices and traffic sources.
Conversion Differences between the Converted and Dropped off groups, when the comparison is on.
Existing solutions Whether the page already contains what an action would add, before recommending it.

The analysis does not treat low scrolling, a long page, several calls to action or missing conversion data as problems on their own. It does not recommend a change or a test on the strength of a small sample alone, judge mobile layout from a desktop image, or claim which content visitors saw at a given depth. Recommending no change is a valid outcome.

Read an AI analysis report

A report opens beside the User Behaviour panel. Below the page address, it shows the period, device and time created, for example "18 Aug 2026 – 16 Sep 2026 · All devices · Created 16 Sep 2026 at 12:18 UTC". The headline also becomes the report's name in Recent.

The Analysis tab contains:

Part What it contains
Headline and summary The overall conclusion for the page, in a short paragraph.
Recommended actions Up to five actions, most valuable first. Each is a change, a test or an investigation. If no change is justified, this part explains why.
Findings and interpretation Under Supporting analysis. One to six findings, each with a title and an explanation linking what was measured, what the page shows and what it may mean, including strengths and uncertainty.
Selected behaviour patterns Under Supporting analysis, and only when it adds something. Up to four ranges of scroll depth, each with a name, the depth range such as "Scroll depth: 25-35%", what was measured and what it means.

Each recommended action has these parts:

Part Meaning
Title What to do, in a few words.
What we see The observation behind the action.
Why it matters Why the action is worth doing now.
Recommended action The change or test to make.
Evidence The measurements and page content that support it.
Priority When to act: Immediate, Near term or Can wait.
Add to Board Adds the action to a project's Board.

The Evidence tab contains:

Part What it contains
Measurements behind the findings The figures the report relied on, from Page sessions, Click events, Clicks per session, Average scroll depth (%), Average recorded time (seconds) and Scrolling recorded at a given % of the page. The previous period is shown when the report compares periods.
Page text used in the findings Up to three quotes from the page, when the report relied on them.
What this evidence cannot tell us The limits that apply to this report.

What this evidence cannot tell us can include:

  • The captured page may differ from the version visitors experienced during the selected period.
  • Page text was unavailable, so wording could not be checked.
  • Only part of the page text was captured, so uncaptured text cannot be treated as missing.
  • The page image shows desktop only and cannot establish the mobile or tablet layout.
  • Scroll counts do not show exactly which content people saw or why they stopped.
  • Session and scroll totals use different measurement bases, so their differences cannot establish a change in engagement.

If the report relied on nothing beyond its findings, the Evidence tab says there are no additional measurements or page quotes to show.

Add to Board, under a recommended action, adds the action as a task on the Board of a project linked to this website. If more than one project qualifies, you choose one. The button shows Please wait… and then Added to Board. Adding the same action twice does not create a second task.

If no project is linked, you will see "No accessible project is linked to this page."

The Board task uses the action's title and priority. Its description contains:

Line Meaning
Scroll Zone The page depth the action concerns.
Target The area, element or visitor group to change.
Change type Add, Remove, Move, Reword, Resize, Restyle, Restructure, Test or Investigate.
Before What we see, from the report.
After The recommended action, from the report.
Acceptance criteria Up to three checks that confirm the work is done. They are not promises of improvement.
Complexity Quick win, Moderate or Heavy lift.
Evidence strength Weak appears on every task from this analysis. It is not a score for that action.
Justification Why it matters, from the report.
Page, Device, Date range, Referrer and Audience The page and filters the analysis used. Referrer shows the traffic source.

Deleting the report later does not change tasks already on the Board.

Export an AI report or chat about it

Export report, at the top of an analysis report, downloads the report as an HTML file you can open in a browser or print. Both tabs are included.

Chat about this analysis opens a chat about the report. Only the person who ran the analysis sees this option.

Find, reopen and delete saved analyses in Recent

The Recent tab in the User Behaviour panel lists analyses for the selected page. It shows up to the five most recent completed reports, plus any analyses still running or not completed. Everyone with access to the page in the workspace sees the same list.

Each entry shows the report headline, the period and device, and one of these statuses:

Status Meaning
Created, with a date and time The report is ready. Select it to open it.
Analysis in progress The analysis is still running. Select it to see its progress.
Needs attention The result could not be confirmed. Contact support, or start a new analysis.
Analysis not completed The analysis stopped. Start a new analysis.

New marks a report you have not opened yet.

Delete removes a report after you confirm in Delete this report?. There is no undo. Board tasks created from the report keep their evidence. You cannot delete an analysis that is still running. If nothing is saved for the page, Recent shows "No saved analyses for this page."

Common misreadings of User Behaviour

Belief Correction
Audience separates new and returning visitors. Audience separates visitors by whether they were signed in to your website.
A shared link always shows the latest 30 days. A link keeps the exact dates it was copied with.
The export shows the latest data, whatever the filters. It exports exactly what the dashboard currently shows.
The dashboard export includes AI analysis reports. AI reports have their own Export report button, in the report itself.
A single traffic source filters every measure. Reach, Time, Average scroll depth and Largest reach drop still include every source, and Average time spent is not reliable for a single source. Use All traffic sources for those measures.
Traffic source sessions add up to the Sessions card. They are counted separately and can differ. Use Sessions for the page total and Share to compare sources.
A red change means performance got worse. Red means the value fell. Whether that is good depends on the page's purpose.
Clicks per session is the share of visitors who clicked. It counts every click. One visitor can click many times.
With All pages, Sessions is the number of visitors to the website. It adds up sessions page by page. One visit to several pages is counted on each page.
Reaching a depth means the visitor saw the content there. Scrolling to a depth does not show which content was on screen.
A page depth matches the same position in a page image. Depth is how far visitors scrolled, not a map of the page's sections.
Dropped off means the visitor left from this page. It means the time to complete the path ended without a conversion.
Completed and not completed are different groups from Converted and Dropped off. They are the same two groups, labelled differently in Page performance.
The conversion comparison shows why visitors converted. It shows how the groups behaved differently, not the cause.
Rage clicks prove an element is broken. They show repeated quick clicking. Check the element before changing it.
Revisits mean visitors were confused. They can also mean visitors re-read something useful.
An AI report with no recommended actions has failed. No action is a valid result when the evidence does not justify a change.
