Search Performance

Search Performance shows how your tracked keywords rank in one search market, how rankings changed against the previous period and where to act next. One set of filters controls every chart and table on the page.

What you can do

Choose a market, category, date range and search engine, then review the results. From the same page you can export a report, share the current view or run an AI analysis of a keyword.

The dashboard reads completed ranking checks. It does not change your website, your keywords or your market settings.

Section What it answers Dates used
Performance overview How are headline rankings and visibility moving? The latest result in the selected period, compared with the latest result in the previous period
Visibility trend How did ranking coverage and page-one visibility change day by day? Every day in the selected period
Current ranking distribution Where do tracked keywords sit in the results now? The latest completed results in the selected period
Keyword performance How is each keyword ranking, and where are the opportunities? The latest results, plus averages and best positions across the period
Current SERP features Which special result types appear for tracked keywords? The latest available results; the date range does not apply
Competitive benchmark How do your rankings compare with your selected competitors? The latest competitor results in each period
AI Overviews Which keywords show an AI Overview, and which websites does it cite? The latest result on or before the selected end date

Each section has its own guide.

Before you start

Select the correct workspace from Workspace at the top of the page. The dashboard lists only the markets in that workspace.

The selected market needs ranking history. A new market shows results once its first ranking checks have completed.

The Competitive benchmark and the Opportunities tab use the competitors selected for the market and search engine. Select competitors in Manage Competitors before relying on either view.

Permissions are workspace-based. Everyone with access to the workspace sees the same markets, chart notes and saved analyses.

Quick start

  1. Select the workspace from Workspace.
  2. Choose a Search market.
  3. Leave Category on All categories, or choose one category.
  4. Choose a Date range.
  5. Choose a Search engine.
  6. Review Performance overview for the headline movement.
  7. Scroll down to investigate charts, keywords, SERP features, competitors and AI Overviews.
  8. Select Analyse with AI, Copy link or Export report as needed.

Choose the filters

Filter What it controls
Search market The website, tracked keywords and search settings being reported. Where two markets share a name, the website appears after the name.
Category All categories, or one category that contains tracked keywords in the selected market.
Date range Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 180 days or a custom range.
Search engine One of the engines enabled for the market. Google is selected by default where available.

Every section refreshes when a filter changes. Choosing a different market resets Category to All categories, selects the default search engine for that market and replaces a custom date range with the last preset range used.

Date ranges

Preset ranges end on the latest date with ranking data for the market, across all its search engines. That date is set when the page or market loads.

For a custom range, open Date range, enter the start and end dates in the custom range section and apply them. A custom range covers up to 366 days and must fall within the market's ranking history.

The comparison period

The previous period always has the same number of days and ends the day before the selected period starts. Both periods appear beneath Performance overview, for example: 17 Aug 2026 – 15 Sept 2026 · compared with 18 Jul 2026 – 16 Aug 2026.

Remembered choices

The page address updates as you change filters, so refreshing the page keeps the current view.

This browser also remembers the last market and preset date range for each workspace. A custom range is not remembered; opening the dashboard without a link starts with Last 30 days.

Changing workspace reloads the markets for the new workspace.

Share the current view

Select Copy link to copy a link to the dashboard with the current workspace, market, category, search engine and date range. The button briefly shows Copied ✓.

If the browser blocks clipboard access, a prompt shows the link to copy manually.

The recipient needs access to the same workspace. A link with a preset range shows the latest dates when it is opened. A link with a custom range opens the exact dates, or Last 30 days if those dates fall outside the market's ranking history.

Export a report

Select Export report to open Export Search Performance report. The panel shows the Report scope taken from the dashboard filters. To change the scope, close the panel and change the filters.

Choose the comparison

Option Result
Previous equivalent period Adds previous values, changes and ranking movement.
No comparison Shows the selected period only.

Choose the format

Format Contents
Excel performance report A workbook with one sheet per dashboard area, plus definitions.
Keyword rankings (CSV) Every keyword in the selected market, category and search engine, with position, average position, search volume, difficulty, ranking page and result date.
Performance measures (CSV) The performance overview measures, their supporting figures and a definition of each.

The Excel workbook contains these sheets:

Sheet Contents

Daily visibility Daily keyword counts, coverage, page-one visibility and average position
Ranking distribution Keywords in each position group on the latest date
Keyword rankings Every keyword in scope
Ranking changes Keywords that improved, declined, started ranking or stopped ranking (comparison only)
Opportunities Keywords where you and at least one selected competitor stayed outside the top 10
SERP features Feature types from the latest available results
Competitive benchmark Your website and selected competitors side by side
AI Overviews Keywords with an AI Overview and whether your website is cited
AI Overview sources The most-cited domains
Definitions Scope, measure definitions and interpretation notes

Select Download report. The button shows Preparing… while the data is gathered, then Your report download has started. appears.

The export always includes every keyword in scope. A search or ranking-change filter in Keyword performance does not limit it.

Measure names in exports

Some measures use a longer name in exports.

Dashboard card Export name
Keywords ranking Ranking coverage
Ranking movement Net position change
Not shown on the dashboard Data coverage: the share of scheduled keyword checks included in the latest results

Net position change appears only when the export includes a comparison.

Analyse a keyword with AI

Select Analyse with AI to find priority keywords or analyse a chosen keyword. The analysis runs in the background and the finished report is saved in Recent. See Search Performance AI analysis for the full workflow.

How the dashboard reads rankings

Positions come from organic search results. A lower number is a better position.

Term Meaning
Not ranking The keyword was checked and your website was not found in the results.
No result No usable ranking result exists for that keyword on that date.
Newly ranking The keyword ranks on the latest date but did not rank on the comparison date, including when the comparison date has no result.
No longer ranking The keyword ranked on the comparison date but does not rank on the latest date, including when the latest date has no result.

Average position uses ranked positions only. It includes the occasional result just beyond position 100.

Loading and errors

Each section shows a placeholder while it loads. AI Overviews loads when you scroll near it.

If data fails to load, each section shows its own error. Keyword performance shows the full message, for example Search Performance data could not be loaded., followed by a reference. Refresh the page, and quote the reference if you contact support.

Troubleshooting

Choose a workspace to view search performance

No workspace is active. Select one from Workspace.

No search markets are available in this workspace

The workspace has no markets you can access. Add a market, or switch to the workspace that holds it.

No ranking history is available for this search market

The market has no completed ranking checks yet. Results appear once checks complete.

The date range does not end today

Preset ranges end on the latest date with ranking data. Refresh the page once newer ranking checks have been recorded.

A custom date range is rejected

Check the message shown:

  • Choose a valid start and end date. The end date is before the start date, or a date is missing.
  • Custom ranges can cover up to 366 days. Shorten the range.
  • Choose an end date on or before … The end date is after the latest ranking data.
  • Ranking data starts on … The start date is before the market's ranking history.

The market in the link is not available to you in that workspace, so the dashboard opens the first available market. Confirm workspace access with the person who shared the link.

Export report is unavailable

The button stays disabled until the dashboard data has loaded. Wait for the sections to finish loading.

The report could not be created

Refresh the page and download the report again.

Competitive benchmark or Opportunities is empty

No competitors are selected for this market and search engine, the selected competitors have no ranking data in the period, or no keyword meets the opportunity conditions. Check the selected competitors in Manage Competitors.
